  • 2nd shift (3:15pm-11:45pm M-F)
  • Shift premium 7% of base wage
  • 3rd shift (11:15pm-7:45am S-Th)
  • Shift premium 10% of base wage

Position Overview:

The Hunter Douglas Plastics & Die Casting facility has manufactured and assembled plastic injection moldings in Owensboro, KY since 1981.This position is responsible for safely and efficiently setting injection molds to produce products that meet customer specifications in accordance with established policies and procedures. 

What you'll do

  • Safely and efficiently set, cycle-in and trouble shoot injection molds
  • Set-up process related equipment; dryers, hoppers and color feeders
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and documents mold issues
  • Reads part drawings and verifies parts for quality requirements
  • Perform color changes
  • Starting up and shutting down injection molding machines
  • Performs preventive maintenance on molds
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor maintenance on equipment
  • Use of measuring equipment (calipers and micrometers)
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform in a dynamic work environment. 
  • 6+ months of injection molding experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of injection molding and related equipment is a plus.
  • Capable of learning and developing process parameters for injection molding machines
  • Must be able to safely work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must be able to work in an environment with ever-changing priorities
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment
  • Responsible for taking an active role in plant-wide safety activities, have a solid work history, strong work ethic, and be accommodating to shift work
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred and the WorkKeys is also desired
  • Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend overtime as needed
