We are looking for a lawyer to join our corporate legal department in Spain. As a member of the Global Law and Compliance Department (“GLCD”), you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a wide variety of comercial, contractual and data privacy matters under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel of Wolters Kluwer Spain.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate legal issues related to Wolters Kluwer's product portfolio and organization in Spain.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Wolters Kluwer businesses in Spain, including its key stakeholders, organization, markets, products, customers, competitors and regulatory environment.
  • Manage contracts with clients and suppliers, supporting the different teams in the negotiation of contracts and participation in public tenders.
  • Collaborate in the creation and continuous improvement of standard contracts, guidelines, policies and legal processes.
  • Participate in the management of privacy and data protection compliance and analyze, evaluate and develop solutions for complex privacy, data protection and IT law issues, providing training to members of the organization when required.
  • Participate in complex local, regional or international projects, as well as in internal and/or external audits.
  • Work cross-functionally with Global Law and Compliance Department (“GLCD”) team members as needed.
  • Support Spain’s Senior Legal Counsel and GLCD’s subject matter specialists in managing local M&A, regulatory, employment and Litigation matters.

Profile:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with full academic legal training.
  • At least five years of professional experience in an international company with complex structures, ideally in a large company or in an international law firm.
  • You should have strong knowledge of civil law on contracts, privacy and data protection, intellectual property (software protection) and new technologies. Qualification as DPO will be an added value.
  • Keen interest in new technologies and the digital sector, as well as a good understanding of the technical and economic contexts.
  • Ability to act independently and proactively, being able to prioritize issues / requests and subsequently implement them in a structured and result-oriented manner.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate confidently and persuasively even with demanding interlocutors.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
