Job Summary: The Project Manager I is responsible to be the controlling contractor on project sites and serve as a point-of-contact for clients. Position ensures that assigned projects are successful by working with clients, contractors, partners, and internal team in following standards, practices, and schedules that result in value-added projects being on-time, on budget and ultimately forming lasting relationships with our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Problem Solving:
Problems and solutions are unique and unpredictable, but are similar to those previously encountered. Solutions require judgment such as setting priorities, evaluating results, coordinating with others and/or referring to a selection of documented choices determined by policies and/or procedures.
Supervision Required:
Performs tasks under general supervision, which is present to establish general objectives relative to a specific project or procedure. Supervision is provided “as-needed.”
Decision-Making Impact:
Independent judgment is required to analyze problems and perform needs assessments as well as select and implement the most appropriate solution with frequent discussion/contact with supervisor. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment is used. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices. Refers exceptions to policies and procedures to the supervisor. Recommendations to create efficiencies within work procedures, policies, and practices are always encouraged.
Decision-making impacts outside department/multiple departments.
Work Complexity:
Tasks and responsibilities required integration of diverse functional areas and may involve many different variables. Work is substantially complex and varied, and requires the interpretation of technical and detailed guidelines, policies, and procedures in combination.
Time Management
This position is expected to work in the office, when not out on site. If work from home is needed, it must be approved by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May be required to mentor Project Engineer.
