Technical Content Developer 3

Summary

Writes, edits, and revises technical documentation for NetWitness products. Compiles information through research, hands-on product experience, and interviews with subject-matter experts. Organizes, analyzes and translates information into organized content for use by NetWitness customers, partners and employees. Uses various authoring and publishing software tools to produce finished documents, including printed and electronic publications, and integrated online help systems. Responsible for developing or executing project plans, schedules, and delivering accurate and timely documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain documents for users, administrators, installation, configuration, online help, and API Documentation.
• Learn the product through hands-on experience (installing, configuring, and testing features).
• Study engineering and product management artifacts and interact with cross-functional teams to understand product features.
• Participate in project scheduling and planning meetings.
• Complete writing assignments as scheduled in the plan.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Scope, define, and create new documents.
• Peer review documents from other writers.
• Seek customer input and take responsibility for customer situations
• Participate in the design and development of documentation presentation, distribution systems, and existing processes, recommending solutions and improvements.

Essential Requirements

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to clearly express complex ideas and concepts
• Knowledge of best practices in technical communication
• Ability and desire to collaborate with others
• Working knowledge of the documentation tools, such as Madcap Flare, Acrobat, and SnagIT.
• Project management skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Desirable Requirements

• 5 - 10 years experience in technical writing.
• Working on projects that follow Agile methodology.
• Exposure to cybersecurity, networking technology, endpoint, and cryptology.
• Exposure to developing information for products in the security domain.
• Exposure to HTML, MadCap Flare, and CMs.
• Exposure to GitLab.
