What You Will Achieve

The ADC Chemistry (AC) group is seeking a highly motivated and creative synthetic chemist to develop novel payloads for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). You will apply organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry to development of new anticancer therapies. You will work collaboratively within the chemistry department and with researchers across the biology, computational, and translational sciences to advance oncology therapeutics from concept to clinic. As an ADC Chemist, you will drive projects and new ideas through drug design, implementation of the synthetic routes, and generating structure-activity relationships and hypotheses.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Utilize experience and creativity in synthetic chemistry to advance ADC technology
  • Execute efficient routes for complex ADC payloads and drug linkers
  • Interpret SAR and prioritize compounds for in vitro and in vivo biology assessment
  • Contribute to and lead programs by executing lead optimization strategies and driving discovery goals
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate across a diverse research department to advance preclinical projects
  • Prepare patent applications and publish impactful research
  • Work cross-functionally with diverse teams to advance pre-clinical programs
  • Expand the capabilities of chemistry department by implementing new techniques and molecular design and implement cutting-edge technologies

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Ph.D. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science OR
  • M.S. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science with minimum 3 years related medicinal chemistry experience in the biopharmaceutical industry OR
  • B.S. degree in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry or related area of science with minimum 5 years related medicinal chemistry experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Contemporary knowledge of the key Medicinal Chemistry concepts and design tools required for pharmaceutical drug discovery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Nice-to-Have

  • Track record of accomplishment in chemical synthesis with examples of high impact publications from scientific work to date

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $88,300.00 to $147,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
