Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm

General Summary

Assists in oversight of the daily operations and work activities of the Financial Counselors. Acts in a supervisory role in the absence of the assigned supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a similar nature.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations and with the interview process. Perform audits on other staff members’ work. Provides rounding and one-on-one meetings.
  • Creates, reviews, reconciles and/or corrects a variety of standard reports, including CRS/SRS.
  • Interacts with outside agencies, vendors, and a variety of governmental agencies.
  • Monitors and audits vendor reporting and account activity.
  • May assist staff with follow up and/or resolution of accounts.
  • Monitors, audits, and works various work queues as assigned.
  • Assists and oversees training of staff and maintains training documents.
  • Creates and maintains department standards of work and policies.
  • Assists with creating staff schedules, monitoring phone coverage, approval of time off, timecards.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Keeps current on all Medicaid and Financial Assistance procedures of government laws and guidelines.

Common Expectations:

  • Establishes relationships and maintains communication with other departments/entities to facilitate problem solving and continuous process improvement.
  • Assists in developing, establishing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and standards of work.
  • Maintains appropriate records, reports, and files as required. Helps compile audit information as necessary.
  • Maintains departmental records and reports and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

  • 3 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

  • Current certification by NAHAM or AAHAM. Upon Hire Required and
  • Cross-trained in the department. Upon Hire Required and
  • Training as a PAS II or Financial Caseworker II. Upon Hire Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Insurance knowledge.
  • Computer skills.
