Associate Director of Recruitment

School of Social Work

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

The Associate Director of Recruitment leads the effort to identify, recruit, and enroll an academically qualified and diverse population of graduate students each year. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management. This position serves as the “face” of Tulane School of Social Work (TSSW) by attending recruitment events and acting as the primary point of contact for prospective students and applicants throughout the admissions process until matriculation. The Associate Director oversees and participates in TSSW hosted recruitment and yield events, assists with marketing initiatives to increase enrollment, and manages a team of Admissions Counselors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience operating and effectively utilizing Slate
  • Ability to positively represent the school effectively in public settings and in interactions with constituents and prospective students
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage projects and tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including knowledge of digital, web, and overarching marketing strategies for strategic recruitment
  • Data management and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization while incorporating a collaborative and collegial work style.
  • Proficient technology skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple software applications that support prospect management and admissions, such as Banner, Slate, and Academic Works.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.

NCAA Related:

Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in admissions or other related experience.

OR

  • Master’s Degree and 2 years of relevant experience in admissions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or other related field
  • Familiarity with the graduate education recruitment cycle
  • Experience in graduate admissions
  • Experience with Banner, Slate, and higher education adjacent software
  • Previous experience supervising staff

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
