Senior Executive Secretary

Otolaryngology

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

The Senior Executive Secretary will provide comprehensive secretarial support to the Chairman and all faculty within the Department of Otolaryngology. Duties include but are not limited to maintaining schedules, answering phones, organizing travel arrangements, depositions, reimbursements, departmental ordering, correspondence, compose/transcribe/distribute faculty meeting minutes, deposits and accounting, monitor and update department website, complete resident and faculty references, coordinating the medical student education program, provides support to educational programs including the Residency Program, coordinates functions of the Chairman’s Office including faculty recruitment, credentialing and faculty appointments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to accept responsibility for tasks beyond scope of job description if required to meet Departmental global mission and needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentially in all work performed.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • More than five years directly related experience
  • Working knowledge of medical education processes, as well as medical terminology.

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
