Position Description:

Develops publicly-available iOS applications using Swift 3/4 and Objective-C supported by RESTful Web services. Implements iOS design patterns -- MVP, MVC, MVVM, and VIPER -- with a focus on Test Driven Development (TDD). Develops applications on iOS using Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. Delivers high-quality applications to guarantee stable and performant experiences using Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins, Artifactory, Fastlane, and XCode Server. Employs DevOps, automated testing, and Continuous Delivery using Jenkins and Azure DevOps. Builds expressive experiences for Apple Watch, Apple TV, and iMessage using WatchKit, App Extensions, and tvOS.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Builds omni channel user experiences and the underlying platforms needed to support a digital presence.
  • Builds entire features -- concept to software deployment -- as part of autonomous, multi-functional teams.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains mobile native iOS software applications in a fast-paced Scrum environment.
  • Provides technical leadership for technology roadmaps and facilitates collaboration across technology partners.
  • Implements computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms to ensure consistency to software engineering standard methodologies.
  • Participates in the release of publicly available applications.
  • Mentors junior team members.

Education and Experience:

No degree and seven (7) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing mobile iOS applications across Apple devices.

Or, alternatively, Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing mobile iOS applications across Apple devices.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing mobile iOS applications across Apple devices.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing Apple's native mobile applications for devices within Cocoa and Cocoa Touch environments following TDD and standard methodologies using Swift, Objective-C languages, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Foundation as core frameworks; performing unit testing using XCode, XCTest, ZShell, Cocoapods, and Swift Package Manager; and performing service testing using Newman Postman and Insomnia Inso Scripts.
  • DE integrating virtual assistance and customer service conversation platforms to build and optimize predictive models that leverage on-device Deep Neural Networks and Convolutional Neural Networks for speech recognition, audio spectrogram analysis, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Tensorflow, and Keras using Apple’s Core Machine Learning (ML) framework; and recognizing user intent using Python Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) Networks.
  • DE creating omni-channel contextual chatbot experiences for Web, MacOS, and iOS using Amazon Web Services (AWS) -- Lex, S3 Buckets, EC2, and Lambda Instances; performing CI/CD automation using Microsoft Azure Cloud Computer Services; and providing and refining customer oriented experiences – performing real time, deep analysis of user data -- using
  • Google's Firebase with Adobe Analytics and Splunk.
  • DE designing and developing features, frameworks, and mobile applications using Clean, Model View, and View Model (MVVM) design patterns following a Data-Driven (DD) development approach; managing asynchronous, concurrent, and multicore operations using Combine, Grand Central Dyspatch (GCD), and NSOperations; and optimizing x86 Intel and ARM M1 processor architecture to ensure industry support and efficient low-level programming.
