Description & Details:

The NDSU School of Natural Resource Sciences seeks applicants for six (6) full-time Summer Aide positions to assist with field research on sugarbeet insect pests. Position responsibilities include:

  • Assistance with insect monitoring, plot maintenance, and field data collection/entry 
  • Good work ethic, conscientiousness, accuracy, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required 
  • One or two overnight trips may occur (lodging is reimbursed and per diem is paid on overnight trips)

Work Schedule:

  • Late-May to mid-/late-August (somewhat flexible; opportunity to extend)
  • Up to 40 hours/week

Advertised Pay:

  • $18/hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid U.S. driver’s license + at least one year of driving experience 
  • Physical ability to do field work 
  • Willingness to work long days outdoors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agriculture- or biology-related major 
  • Experience with sugarbeet or other crop production 
  • Previous agricultural research experience
