We are looking for an Actuarial Support Analyst to join our Service Delivery Team’s Actuarial Support division. This is a newly created function designed to enrich our Insurance Risk Modelling Suite clients’ support experience by complementing the existing functional and technical teams. 

The role will require a hybrid level of expertise including a good understanding of Actuarial modelling, Actuarial technology, and technical knowledge of public cloud application deployment. Previous experience with the FIS Insurance Risk Modelling Suite (formerly known as the Prophet Application Suite) is therefore highly advantageous. As the successful candidate will be interacting with clients on a daily basis, they should also possess strong communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively with others to solve problems collectively! 

The primary responsibilities of the Actuarial Support Analyst will be:  

  • Build, own, and cultivate continued strong relationships with a portfolio of clients.
  • Proactively engage with clients to drive stability by: 
  • Providing guidance on governance and best practices. 
  • Assisting with capacity planning as their Prophet suite usage evolves.  
  • Improving user experience of Prophet and the associated applications. 
  • Understanding long term requirements to properly plan future actuarial and technical engagements with FIS. 
  • Provide internal support on complex and high visibility client issues by driving the identification of where issues lie (i.e. in models, in the infrastructure or in the application) and what is needed to correct them. 
  • Co-ordination of efforts globally when issues span across multiple business groups. 
  • Liaise with our Product group to integrate client requirements and application bugs into the product development lifecycle. 
  • Liaise with our Consulting Services group to line up and seamlessly pass on new implementation, upgrade, and optimization related activities. 
  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base of client support, procedural and policy documentation.  
  • Training of less experienced support team members, as needed.  

Position Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Actuarial Mathematics, Mathematics or Statistics based subject 
  • 2- 3 years of experience in an insurance pricing department, consultancy, or technology firm.  
  • Have worked with actuarial systems, preferably the Prophet system. 
  • An understanding of modeling techniques such as: new business processing, looping, rebasing, goal seeking, extended formulas, nested structures, modules, and dynamic & stochastic modelling.  
  • A good working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills.  
  • Experience working as part of a large diverse, global team.  
  • Experience and confidence in interacting with an audience of internal and external senior stakeholders. 
  • A strong sense of ownership and focused on delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision. 
  • Business level fluency in English with strong oral and written communication skills.  

Bonus if you have:  

  • Additional business level language fluency, particularly in German, French, Spanish or Dutch, to support our customers across the region. 
  • Awareness of emerging regulatory and risk topics that will impact the financial industry, including climate related risks.  
  • Understanding of a coding language such as SQL, Python, VBA, or Windows PowerShell. 
  • Working knowledge of databases, database architecture and database administration.  
  • IT skills with an ability to understand and discuss cloud and desktop infrastructure including machine and storage types, operating systems, and performance metric monitoring.
