In this role, you will be responsible for the full product management cycle for all Lab Automation & Software solutions (LASS), including go to market, tender participation, and commercial pricing engagement through to End of Life. You will be the SME and go-to for all value proposition and solutions management activation across the portfolio and will work closely within the team and across all other communities to position and elevate our solutions to be recognised as best in class. You will be responsible for managing the LASS Team for all Roche supplied Automation and software solutions, Project delivery to cover all business areas within Roche Diagnostics New Zealand (RDNZ). Paramount to delivery of these systems is patient data integrity and all necessary information security management aspects.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Ensuring the team can support and Install, maintain and troubleshoot Roche IT solutions and Roche Automation Instruments Operating software at customer sites.
  • Engaging with the customer during the sales process and bringing the projects through planning, implementation, optimisation, testing and into a live system.
  • Support the Service team in IT and service related issues remotely or at customer sites.
  • Responsible for delivering software upgrades, involved in site system design and implementations.
  • Provide consultation on connectivity solutions, regulatory compliance, security and virus protection concerns.
  • Develop software and automation marketing strategy and tactics that align with overall RDNZs strategy and vision.
  • Manage workflow consulting activities- documentation of existing layout and laboratory processes, proposal for the future using appropriate visualization and simulations tools e.g. turnaround time (TAT) reports/simulations, laboratory layout, laboratory process mapping, etc.
  • Develop staff across product training and tools to support their daily work.
  • Understand and translate the features of all IT Solutions portfolio of products into customer oriented benefits communication.
  • Provide product presentations and demonstrations as required by the Sales teams.
  • Provide second level IT support / troubleshooting assistance to Application Specialists, Field Service Engineers and customers for all Roche Instrumentation.

Who you are:

With a laboratory background, and knowledge and understanding of the full suite of Laboratory IT and Automation solutions, you are someone who has a wide-open mind and keeps the customer, and the broader influencer community, at the heart of everything you do. You have a curious nature, and a desire to understand others and challenge the status quo to achieve the outcomes the business, the customer, and the patients need. 

To be successful in this position you will have substantial Laboratory IT and Automation solutions/product marketing experience, coupled with being a strategic thinker, as well as:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within Medical Diagnostic Industry. Experience with Roche Automated Analytical Systems including Clinical Chemistry Systems, Immunodiagnostic systems, Haematology Systems, and Integration systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience in interfacing laboratory and hospital equipment to middleware or various LIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, storage, networks, operating systems, platforms and configurations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the widely used ASTM/HL7 protocols, TCP/IP, networking and firewalls would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience using JavaScript and SQL.
  • Experience in people management and training personnel.
  • Exhibited ability to diagnose applications and operational issues on middleware systems and to successfully resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong customer empathy and interaction skills, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You will be agile, adaptable, and be able to bring a positive, solution and outcome mindset to drive performance and change.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
