Staffing & Transportation Coordinator Opportunity

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to children, adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our three outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

The Staffing & Transportation Coordinator provides office and paraprofessional support for the day to day operations of the Nursing Department. Duties include coordinating staff schedules on a monthly and daily basis, scheduling patient transports, completing staff timecard corrections, scheduling staff trainings, etc. Functions as a Mental Health Tech as qualified & scheduled.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Completes all timecard corrections for the nursing department on office days and reports any issues with tardiness, missed lunches or missed punches to the Director of Nursing.
  • Schedules patient transports (in vivo, local, and long-distance) and coordinates the handling of reimbursement and receipts for the Transporters. Maintains current drivers list, phone numbers, etc. May assist with and perform patient transports as necessary. Assists with Transporter performance evaluations and competencies, as assigned. 
  • Creates and maintains nursing staff schedules via electronic scheduling system utilizing the nursing grid and master schedule. Maintains coverage for additional scheduling needs due to changes in the day to day staffing of the nursing department. Completes any audits regarding staffing, including the annual staffing evaluation. 
  • Schedules department orientation for new employees. Tracks preceptor assignments and process bonuses for payment.
  • Works with Employee Health and Staff Development to schedule nursing employees for required trainings and screenings to include CPI, CPR and TSTs. Assists Nursing Leadership with staff required trainings. 
  • Assists with purchasing and stocking of supply rooms, lab rooms and units as assigned. Oversees the lab process on the units, including review of the lab books for completion of labs, QA audits and oversight. 
  • Leads staff education programs such as phlebotomy, CPI, verbal de-escalation, CPR or General Orientation classes as qualified and assigned. Prepares Orientation Material for Nursing New Hires. 
  • Functions as a MHT based on facility needs. Provides lunch coverage for unit staff. Maintains all unit competencies and trainings as assigned. 
  • Prepares admission, discharge, transfer and Restraint and Seclusion packets for units.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Post high school education preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years related experience preferred. Scheduling experience preferred. Behavioral Health experience preferred.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs. Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work 4 10-hour shifts Monday - Thursday
