We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Institutional Equity Sales Specialist with deep relationships across pension funds, insurers, endowments, mutual insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and other planned sponsors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, exceptional relationship-building skills, a proven record of business development, market knowledge, ability to set meetings and prepare materials in advance, and the ability to effectively communicate equity high touch, electronic, and international trading capabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and expanding our client base. This role reports directly to the Head of Equity Sales & Trading. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to target planned sponsors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, and other institutional investors. Lead business development across sales and have an established track record of converting leads and growing revenue. 
  • Spearhead conferences and networking events with planned sponsors and external manager stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers at planned sponsor organizations, understanding their investment objectives, risk tolerance, and portfolio needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to planned sponsors, providing expert guidance on equity investment opportunities and market trends.
  • Collaborate closely with investment bankers, fixed income voice sales, and other internal stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to planned sponsor clients. 
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities and trends within the planned sponsor segment.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and pitches to planned sponsor clients, showcasing the firm's capabilities and value proposition. Prepare slides and pitchbooks independently. 
  • Drive revenue growth by effectively cross-selling equity products and services to planned sponsor clients, maximizing wallet share and profitability.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry developments, and competitive landscape impacting planned sponsors, providing insights and recommendations to internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in institutional equity sales, some of which has a focus on planned sponsors
  • Proven track record of success in building and maintaining relationships with planned sponsor clients, exceeding sales targets, and driving revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of equity markets, financial products, and investment strategies relevant to planned sponsors
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct thorough market research and analysis
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with a high degree of autonomy and initiative
  • An established set of planned sponsor and buyside references
  • Series 7 & 63 licenses 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or CFA

% Travel: 30 - 50%

Work type: Full‐time, hybrid

Expected salary range: $175,000 - $225,000
