Located in Farmingdale, NY
Salary: $21.50
This role is responsible for welding manufactured components consisting of aluminum, steel and stainless steel according to customer specifications. The shifts are from 7am-3:30pm/3:30pm- 12am.
Main Job Duties:
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on manufactured components
- Review and understand work instructions and blueprints to ensure proper components are used
- Inform supervisor of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problems
- Communicate effectively with department personnel to facilitate production orders
- Follow instructions as provided by supervisor
- Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
- Cooperate with other employees in the department and maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
- Adhere to all company safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of welding experience is required
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to understand a work order to use proper components is required
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints is required
- Knowledge of quality assurance concepts to identify and prevent errors within the production process is preferred
- Ability to work overtime when required
- Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift
- Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool
- Capable of lifting 45 pounds
- Capable of working in a manufacturing environment
