Ecommerce Site Search Specialist, Catalog Operations

Job Title: Ecommerce Site Search Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ecommerce Site Search Specialist with expertise in B2B commerce that is focused on optimizing the customer search experience for the PartsSource Marketplace, where we provide hospitals and hospital systems with critical care products and services. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of search engine analysis and tuning. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product information, merchandising, and product management playing the pivotal role to optimize search functionality, improve user experience, and drive conversion rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in B2B commerce and Healthcare product management to understand the unique requirements and intricacies of our target audience.
  • Take ownership of the site search function, working with the catalog and merchandising teams to define and implement strategies that improve search relevancy, accuracy, and speed.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to conduct thorough analysis of search behavior, user intent, and trends to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
  • Analyze search metrics and user behavior to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with our development partners to integrate, configure, and fine-tune the search engine, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. 
  • Administer the configuration and maintenance of the site search engine, including tuning search algorithms, managing synonyms, and promoting key products.
  • Employ A/B testing and other data-driven methods to assess the effectiveness of search algorithms, query parsing, and results presentation.
  • Implement advanced search features, such as faceted navigation, autocomplete, spell correction, and synonym handling, to enhance user experience.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to search, such as click-through rates, conversion rates, zero-searchand search abandonment rates, and devise strategies to improve these metrics.
  • Collaborate with SEO specialists to align with site search strategies, enhancing product visibility and search rankings.
  • Drive the development and enforcement of Search-related documentation and standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in site search, B2B commerce, and Healthcare product management.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in ecommerce site search analysis, tuning, and optimization
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Science, Digital Business. 
  • Experience with Site Search platforms (e.g. Bloomreach, Elastisearch, SOLR) 
  • Experience in Product Information Management (PIM) platforms and Content Management best practices. 
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets and ability to translate user behavior insights into beautiful search results.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns and trends in search behavior.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adaptability in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
  • Prior experience in the Healthcare industry and familiarity with medical terminology is highly desirable.
  • Experience with the Bloomreach DXM platform would be a significant advantage.
