Analytical/Bioanalytical Scientist III

How will you make an impact?

The successful candidate will bring an expertise in the analytical/bioanalytical field, someone who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment. The person will work in a close collaboration with organic chemists and cell biologists on the discovery and the development of new products for the delivery of macromolecules in vivo and ex vivo through transfection, protein expression, viral production, and cell culture, for applications in cell and gene therapy ground breaking technologies. 

What will you do?

  • Develop and validate analytical methods for ongoing projects and perform routine testing using common laboratory techniques (HPLC/UPLC, FTIR, LC/MS, UV-vis. Karl Fisher, Fluorescence, etc.)
  • Provide analytical support for existing products and for new product development by conducting independent and accurate research investigations,
  • Design, perform and analyze results of stability studies and other required studies supporting product development, 
  • Prepare for technology transfer from R&D to QC and manufacturing departments as appropriate, and participate in the drafting of relevant documentation, 
  • Author technical reports and SOPs and maintain accurate lab notebooks, and training files in accordance with relevant Thermo Fisher standards to support innovation and patent application, as well as other international standards (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.),
  • Prepare and present experimental data summaries, author scientific documents for publication in peer reviewed journals and/or patent submission, and make contributions to scientific conferences,
  • Maintain and calibrate existing analytical instrumentation. 

How will you get here?

  • MS with validated experience preferably gained in an industrial setting or Ph.D. or an equivalent International Degree 2+ years of experience in analytical/bioanalytical sciences.

Experience

  • Proven knowledge and experience operating and interpreting data using the most common analytical techniques (HPLC, LC/MS, GC/MS, Fluorescence, FTIR, NMR (1D, 2D, 13C), UV-Visible, etc.)
  • Experience in the development, optimization and validation of analytical methods and knowledge of relevant guidelines,
  • Knowledge of the basic operations in a chemistry research lab and experience handling organic samples and solvents, 
  • Previous experience working with at least one of the following fields: lipids, polymers, and peptides is desirable,
  • Basic knowledge of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and other nanostructures, and their characterization is also desirable, 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, and be able to clearly communicate in English,
  • Must enjoy working with scientists engaged in R&D of products in the forefront of cell and molecular biology,
  • Among other requirements is the ability to handle several projects simultaneously,
  • Computer literacy comprises the ability to use windows suite (word, Excel, Power point, …), drawing software, and statistics software.

The total base pay range is €34,700.00 to €46,250.00.

This translates to a monthly salary range of approximately €2,891.67 to €3,854.17 before taxes.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €34,700.00–€46,250.00.
