Director of Procurement is responsible for developing a strategic approach to the procurement and material management process. In this new role you will lead the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, standing up policies/best practice and collaborating with across our organization and large hospital base to meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives
  • Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to optimize procurement process.

Vendor Management

  • Identify and evaluate all current and potential suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions to secure agreements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key vendors, monitoring their performance with scorecards and quarterly business reviews

Cost Management

  • Optimize costs through negotiation, Vendor Consolidation, bulk purchasing of OFI materials and other cost saving measures
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial objectives
  • Help lead our annual cost savings plan for all departments

Process Management

  • Develop the appropriate SOPs for a business our size, across necessary vendors and processes
  • Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish and implement long-term goals for the department in order to promote effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations and company policies
  • Implement solutions to help streamline procurement workflows at hospital level
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement process

Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance and project management teams to understand their procurement needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies that support organizational goals.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate regular reports on activities, including key performance indicators and cost savings
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of related experience, with a track record of successful negotiations and cost savings
  • Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration and development.
  • Experience with building a vendor program
  • Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, contract law and best practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with procurement software systems
  • Ability to analyze and make data-driven decisions

Pay Range

$155,000—$165,000 USD
