Job Description

Lead Software Engineer positions offered by Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC (Atlanta, GA). Provide technical leadership in connection with the development of Android mobile applications, serving as a mentor to more junior developers and an advocate for platform best practices. Partner with technology leaders and project management team, and be responsible for the delivery of several mobile apps to end customers. Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using best practices as defined by Google Play guidelines. Develop and deliver platform and application enhancements which meet or exceed customer needs. Plan and deliver core technology upgrades for our digital platforms. Diagnose, design, and implement solutions to key technology or application problems. Be an active participant in an Agile Scrum team which uses ceremonies such as daily standup, sprint planning, and retrospectives to conduct development. Coordinate with product management to estimate, refine, and plan the product roadmap for upcoming features and functionality. Collaborate with cross functional teams such as architecture, backend integration, visual design, UX teams, QA, etc. Responsible for all phases of SDLC in designing and developing Mobile apps.

Minimum Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in computer science or related field and 6 years of experience in the position offered or 6 years of experience performing Kotlin, Java, and bash scripting development. Also requires 6 years of experience: architecting, designing, and developing mobile Android apps in a lean or agile environment using UX and UI design paradigms; developing mobile apps using native SDKs; building mobile apps and integrating with backend APIs; coordinating agile teams in a service-oriented continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) environment; and signing manual code and deploying apps through Google Play Store. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned field and 6 years of experience as stated, the employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 4 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 1 year of experience as stated. Also requires 1 year of experience: performing mobile-based test automation; using distributed version control software; working with data structures and algorithms; working with Kotlin Scripts, Gradle Play Publisher, and Kotlin Multiplatform; and working with Jetpack Libraries. Position reports to office in Atlanta, GA. Position may work from home, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.

Compensation includes a base salary of $156,000 to $187,682. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company’s needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave, and COVID-19 vaccination leave.
