Spherion is hiring a Warehouse Lead in west Indianapolis, close to Plainfield!

Y shift: Tuesday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm $23.50/HR

X shift: Saturday-Monday 5:30am-5:30pm $23.50/HR

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day direction and supervision to Workers, including ensuring workers check-in/check-out with security.
  • Monitor Workers no-call/no show and provide additional Workers to the Location as requested.
  • Assist with on-site orientation for each new Worker.
  • Ensure the Workers Safety Checklist and any other required documentation is completed by each new Worker and turned into the appropriate Location representatives.
  • Train new Workers on timekeeping processes in addition to ensuring the Workers clock in and out promptly.
  • Participate in the start of the shift meeting, stretching activity, updates, and priorities for the day.
  • Provide additional Task instruction, as needed.
  • When needed or requested by clients, train new Workers on their assigned Tasks.
  • Monitor Workers performance during shifts ensuring the team is productive, quality of work is maintained, and safety practices are performed.
  • Correct improper work methods with Workers.
  • Correct safe lifting techniques and verify other safety procedures are being followed. Immediately stop any observed unsafe behaviors and provide effective corrective steps.
  • Ensure that safety incidents are reported to the Safety Manager (or other Location Leader as applicable) for OSHA tracking within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Assist in determining and investigating any safety incident or injury trend to reduce recurrence.
  • Inform the Location Leader regarding findings and corrective actions.
