A Snapshot of Your Day:

As a Data Architect & Logistics Data Steward, you will play a pivotal role in the digital transformation initiatives within Siemens Gamesa, particularly in the Siemens Energy Logistics department. Your responsibilities encompass designing and implementing robust data strategies, architectures, and flows while ensuring the quality and integrity of logistics data within the S/4 HANA transformation project.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  1. Data Architecture:
  • Work with the application development team to implement data strategies and build data flows.
  • Lead multiple scrum teams to design and implement scalable data architectures.
  • Gather and analyze data requirements and flows to other systems.
  1. Data Governance:
  • Implement and uphold data governance policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Advocate for opportunities to improve data quality through process and system improvements.
  1. Data Management:
  • Oversee the creation, modification, and validation of master data related to logistics.
  • Maintain logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
  1. Data Migration:
  • Collaborate with data migration teams to ensure smooth transition of logistics data to S/4 HANA.
  • Validate and reconcile migrated data to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
  1. Data Analytics:
  • Create own reports based on data that is stored in the corporate Snowflake instance (e.g. S/4 Hana and different Azure SQL databases) for ad-hoc analysis
  • Build the strategy, design and implement dashboards for the logistics function on corporate and regional level
  • Tender, onboard and manage external service provider as an extended workbench
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data-related processes, standards, and guidelines.
  • Generate regular reports on data quality metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and IT teams to understand business processes.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring alignment with logistics data objectives.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and data quality enhancements.
  • Stay updated on the latest S/4 HANA features and capabilities through training programs.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of experience in Data Engineering.
  • Proficiency in relational databases and query authoring (SQL).
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in at least one public cloud platform, preferably Azure.
  • Experience in Snowflake as a data cloud provider is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in scripting (Python), RESTful API, and workflow creation (Apache Airflow).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
