Overview

The Placement Stability Specialist works directly with the foster family, foster youth, and foster care team, in the office and home environment, to identify therapeutic barriers to prevent home placement disruptions of foster youth. Through specialized trainings which incorporate trauma informed care practices, this role utilizes guidance, modeling, training/educating to StepStone foster parents to prevent overall placement disruption. The goal of this service is to help maintain stability of the youth, provide continued learning for our foster families that will empower them to utilize trauma informed therapeutic interventions, and create long term stability in the foster home. This role reports directly to the Regional Director.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the youth, foster family, TFC worker, and the treatment team to preserve the placement utilizing interventions via a Trauma Informed Care lens
  • Develops positive working relationships with clients, foster parents and DCBS personnel
  • Maintains flexible working hours
  • Provides on call assistance after hours in the event of a therapy crisis or emergency
  • Assists newly licensed foster families to assess needs/readiness and preparing the family/biological children for their first foster youth placement
  • Provides feedback and support to treatment team members during case consultations
  • Partipates in monthly trainings to StepStone staff and foster families are provided to ensure that best practice TFC level services are implemented
  • Provides leadership assistance to the treatment team and foster parents
  • Responsible to see that agency procedures and policies are followed
  • Provides services that respect each child’s and family’s cultural background, heritage, and identity
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field
  • Valid License in the field
  • Five years of experience in a child welfare program
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job

Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 / Year
