Summary of Position

The primary responsibility of the ESG Intern entails researching, supporting, and advancing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives and projects across the organization. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct research and compile documentation on all ESG initiatives across the organization. ESG endeavors encompass, but are not restricted to: 

  • Environmental: 
  • Energy usage and efficiency 
  • Climate change strategy 
  • Waste reduction 
  • Biodiversity loss 
  • Greenhouse gas emissions 
  • Carbon footprint reduction 
  • Social: 
  • Fair pay and living wages 
  • Equal employment opportunity 
  • Employee benefits 
  • Workplace health and safety 
  • Community engagement 
  • Responsible supply chain partnerships 
  • Adhering to labor laws 
  • Governance: 
  • Corporate governance 
  • Risk management 
  • Compliance 
  • Ethical business practices

  • Accounting integrity and transparency 
  • Analyze collected data and offer recommendations for future initiatives. 
  • Formulate marketing strategies highlighting existing ESG endeavors for both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Research ESG Certifications and provide recommendations regarding which the organization should pursue

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in University required. 
  • Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability or Business-related majors preferred. 
  • Demonstrated computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
