US Farathane is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator at our Tech Center in Auburn Hills, MI. The Senior Cost Estimator is responsible for processing new business quotations, engineering change quotations, cost returns directed by the Cost Development Manager. This position is fully onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.

We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates and price quotations on new work and engineering changes by reviewing data, drawings, or documents to determine required process, tooling, materials, labor and capital.
  • Prepare internal and external requests for supporting costs.
  • Utilize cost estimating models to complete and present pricing and investment for approval to Senior Management.
  • Process and present and the approved pricing in the customer’s format.
  • Create and maintain record of quotations in electronic database and files.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and evaluate data using PC based viewing software to determine most efficient process and tool construction while considering production volumes and part specification requirements.
  • Understanding of plastic injection molding process and assemblies, mold construction and related costs.
  • Familiar with automotive OEM Forms and cost standards
  • Proficient with Windows Software (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, along with strong math background
  • Flexibility – ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Team player within a progressive work environment
  • A secondary degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field or equivalent experience in Cost Estimating.
  • Cost calculation, manufacturing, or related experience
  • Working knowledge of CAD viewing software
