The purpose of the Senior Data Systems Engineer position is to provide the technical support and development of system solutions to support a shop floor control system to ensure 100% compliance to customer requirements, while providing routing / tracking / reporting of product from initial dock receipt, processing through final shipment.

This is an onsite role in our Lewisville TX office.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Function as the Site’s Data/Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) and have a thorough understanding of the shop floor control system and provide innovative solutions to enhance productivity, and material control while maintaining customer compliance
  • Participates in supply chain team to provide master data support when setting up new programs or enhancements to existing programs
  • Partner with customer and update system to route products appropriately based on knowledge of master data, customer specific requirements and global usage models
  • Site subject matter expert on the Shop Floor Control System’s limitation and capabilities
  • Gather requirement data from various stakeholders and constituents
  • Review, evaluate, organize and document detailed requirements of the various stakeholders
  • Work with the team to design/develop system application and program configuration in support of business and technical needs
  • Validate software and infrastructure components required to implement technical needs
  • Adhere to Assurant change management requirements for application and system implementation
  • Partners with Product Development and Compliance to ensure we operate within regulatory guidelines and internal policy
  • Perform and direct or mentor technical support activities required for execution of overall test plan of new applications/solutions

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Associates Degree or 5+ years’ experience in supporting/architecting solutions for a Consumer Electronics Manufacturing/Logistics Shop Floor Control System
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and manage system solutions in a fast paces electronics environment
  • Experience working within ORACLE MRP/ERP systems, to include item master entry, BOM creation, workflow routing, quality element entry, and fault/repair mapping
  • Experience working within the Microsoft stack of technologies, SQL Server, SQL Developer, Postman, SOAP, XML, etc. with a primary focus on PLSQL and SQL Server
  • Knowledge of development concepts for Windows and Web-Based Services
  • Highly organized approach to managing day to day activities
  • Ability to translate customer/operational requirements into system driven solutions
  • Ability to manage complex data sets
  • Ability to multi task, manage multiple functions/activities at the same time
  • Very good verbal/written communication skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Customer interface (ability to drive needed deliverables from the customer)
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team
  • Ability to set priorities on key deliverables
  • Ability to effectively escalate issues across internal/customer organization

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years’ experience in supporting/architecting solutions for a Consumer Electronics Manufacturing/Logistics Shop Floor Control System
  • Knowledge in Mainframe and or Client/Server and N-tier development principles including understanding of Object Oriented Modeling, Analysis, Design, and Programming a plus

Pay Range:

$62,000.00 - $103,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
