Associate Director of Software Engineering

We are looking for an inspiring Associate Director of Software Engineering to join our management team and take part in our mission to use genomics to improve our everyday life. We collect and organize vast amounts of data, extract insights with AI and provide a great user experience - so that our customers can reach more patients. Our stack includes Python, Linux, MySQL, ML, DL, Elasticsearch and more.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of developers and providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and objectives for the R&D group in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Drive innovation and excellence in research and development activities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and evaluation, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and other cross-functional teams, to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in R&D, and apply knowledge to enhance project outcomes and drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in relative subject required; a doctoral degree (PhD preferred) is highly desirable
  • Previous experience as a R&D group leader of a 20+ sized team within a corporate organization environment
  • Technical knowledge and ability to perform hands-on tasks with full-stack development
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and drive project success in a fast-paced environment. (Solid experience in agile methodologies- e.g SCRUM).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, with a passion for driving positive change and making a meaningful impact.
  • Experience in building great performing, highly scalable teams.
