Job Summary:

A supply chain specialist is responsible for overseeing the flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers. They manage the procurement, storage, transportation, and distribution of materials and products. They also analyze and optimize the supply chain performance, identify, and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and supply chain software.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the procurement and delivery of materials and products.
  • Monitor and evaluate the supply chain performance and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and quality-improving strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and customers.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely reports and records.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Review and process purchase orders and invoices.
  • Track and manage inventory levels and availability.
  • Coordinate and schedule the transportation and distribution of materials and products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays in the supply chain.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections of materials and products.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None 

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
  • A certification in supply chain management, such as APICS, ISM, or CSCMP, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
