Job Purpose

This position will primarily support both the Quality Assurance and Compliance Assurance programs by performing data modeling, analysis, and visualization of inspection and compliance performance data. Additional duties may include the research and drafting of responses to regulatory data requests, enforcement actions, audits and assessments, monitoring of mandated activities, records & metrics to ensure the company’s compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements and promoting a culture focused on pipeline safety and operational compliance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and produce monthly reporting and dashboards for both Quality Assurance and Compliance Assurance using modern virtual reporting tools.
  • Identify and track trends associated with data output which will be used to prioritize second line assurance efforts.
  • Provide support during regulatory audits including working with State Pipeline Safety staff in reviewing company records.
  • Partner with Operations to deploy sustainable compliance solutions to satisfy audit findings.
  • Proactively monitor mandated activities and metrics through records review to ensure the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage adoption of National Grid’s Pipeline Safety Management System and create a focus on compliance.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of work experience in utilities or similar regulated industry
  • Proficient in relevant software e.g. Power BI, Maximo, SAP, and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel)
  • In-depth knowledge of industry rules, regulations and ways of working
  • Knowledge of developments in regulations (Federal, State & Local requirements)
  • Demonstrated ability to meet time/date driven mandates
  • Strong inter-personal skills that support working constructively with others
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that enable one to influence others using data and logic through a solid business case
  • Self-motivated, confident, efficient, decisive, and committed to a strong and consistent compliance assurance program
  • Takes personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly
  • Reviews work for accuracy and assure that all details are complete
  • Establishes the facts by asking probing questions and challenging responses
  • Identifies basic relationships between sources of data such as cause and effect or if-then relationships

More Information

Salary - $99,000 - $116,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
