Job Description

This is an ideal opportunity for a high potential individual seeking to move into a best practice internal audit function in a rapidly growing industry segment. You will take a senior role within the team and gain diverse experience across the Experian business. As a Senior Audit Manager in our integrated team, you will be exposed to assignments in IT infrastructure, software development, transformation programmes, data governance, new products, information security, acquisitions, regulatory compliance and financial control.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaboration in the development of the rolling audit plan and performance of regular functional risk assessments.
  • Relationship management with senior stakeholders through the provision of risk, control and governance consultancy, championing the concepts of internal control and risk throughout Experian.
  • Involvement in GIA projects and initiatives, support in driving the strategic direction of the GIA function and supporting continuous improvement in our methodology and ways of working. 
  • Plan and scope local and global audits and agree them with management, identify key risks and associated controls as part of your walkthrough and testing process.
  • When assigned the role of 'Lead Auditor', coordinate the audit process with key stakeholders, manage the activities of other internal auditors (local and overseas) assigned to the project. 
  • Identify and agree impactful issues that drive positive change in the organization.
  • Prepare draft reports reflecting the results of work performed, and agree the findings and proposed actions with the business owners. Present findings to senior managers of the business and the Global Internal Audit Executive management team.
  • Perform follow-up on the status of outstanding internal audit issues where necessary.
  • Maintain a professional development plan to improve technical, interpersonal and management skills consistent with Experian’s requirements and talent management philosophy.
  • Contribute to GIA global and local teams through professional skills, technical expertise, energy and motivation.
  • Coach team members to develop their technical knowledge, audit capability and soft skills.

Up to 25% of your time may be spent travelling to our offices overseas, including quarterly travel to the UK, so this is a great opportunity to raise your profile across a truly global organisation.

Qualifications

What you'll need to bring:

We're looking for someone who can bring real passion and personality to the team. You need to be able to translate the world of audit to stakeholders across our business. In particular, it's essential for you to possess the following:

  • Degree educated or control certification such as CIIA, ACA or ACCA;
  • Experience in a large multinational organisation, “Big 4” professional services, financial services or similar industry/regulatory environment would be beneficial;
  • Proven auditing experience or similar role or risk environment, alongside strong understanding of IIA internal auditing standards;
  • Understanding of relevant laws and regulations (GDPR, FCA regulations);
  • Data analytics skills such as SQL or ACL an advantage;
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, bringing gravitas to the role to gain buy in from process owners and senior management;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively;
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach to governance and change;
  • An approach that champions collaboration and consultation.
