Shared Services Strategy for government is an ambitious and ground-breaking portfolio redefining the way Shared Services work across government. This role sits within the Unity Programme which will deliver a new service for His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) & the Department for Transport (DfT) amongst others!
We are seeking an experienced and progressive leader to join our team as the Head of Unity Business Services (HR recruitment, Finance & Procurement) Data & Reporting Operations; responsible for leading the Unity team Shared Services provision cross government department.
This role sits in the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) group. CFO supports our people and the running of HMRC by providing commercial, estates, finance, control, banking internal audit and Unity Business Services as well as looking after Corporate Services Transformation.
This role is within the Unity Business Services area. Across government, Shared Services touches the lives of over 450,000 civil servants providing business critical tools in human resources, finance, payroll and procurement to enable employees to deliver public services.
The Government Shared Services (GSS) ambition is for better services, with modernised systems, delivering the business greater value and efficiencies.
Role Specification
The Unity Business Services (HR recruitment, Finance & Procurement) Data & Reporting Operations Team are a small specialist team operating in a fast-paced environment. The team balances standard reporting with the need to respond to constantly evolving business priorities resulting in requirements for large, complex and highly critical data sets across government to support finance, planning and recruitment.
With access to one of the largest people data platforms across government, leading a team at the forefront of reporting from SAP ERP system using a variety of tools and rapidly growing the boundaries of what can be achieved.
You will be HMRC’s data operations lead for Unity Business Services reporting approaches, ensuring the final solutions meet HMRC’s needs.
Playing a proactive role in crafting and agreeing data and reporting strategies and standards for UBS.
