Summary

This is an onsite position with time split between the Biddeford and Sanford locations.

  • Position Summary
  • This is the first level of a four level career path in SBO Customer Service. The SBO Customer Service Associate’s interactions are a direct reflection on the MaineHealth brand and must convey a friendly, caring and professional attitude with all customers. The SBO Customer Service Associate Level 1 will utilize a basic understanding of common medical billing practices and the revenue cycle process. The incumbent in this position may require guidance from senior members on the team. Beginner skills in Customer Service etiquette and call center metrics will be used. This role is responsible for answering incoming phone calls from patients, guarantors, and others such as insurance companies, attorney offices, or other healthcare providers, as well as processing payments using online module or payment device, ensuring payments are correctly applied to accounts. The incumbent will utilize tools and resources provided to research accounts, identify billing issues and use established workflows to notify the Revenue Cycle Team responsible for that area of expertise for full review and resolution. Work toward increasing software application knowledge and revenue cycle best practices in an effort to continue along career growth path.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: High School graduate or GED/HiSET preferred.
  • License/Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: No experience required
  • Keyboard/typing and data entry skills required
  • Computer experience is required with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet resources
  • Proficiency with, or the aptitude to be trained for, problem-solving and work toward solutions as an active member of the team
  • Competently work in a high volume, fast paced environment with composure
  • Perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
