Meet the Team

Silicon Labs is looking for Wi-Fi SW Product Manager for its team. The Wi-Fi Product team is responsible for strategy and differentiation for a growing roadmap for Wi-Fi products on Silicon Labs roadmap to meet the wide range of IoT applications requirements. You will join a team of highly experienced product team, who are focused on accelerating adoption of Wi-Fi as a key technology for IoT.

• We collaborate with key stakeholders in business units, R&D, Operations, Marketing, field engineering team to drive Wi-Fi design wins and accelerate time to revenue by unblocking issues.
• We create/prioritize Wi-Fi roadmaps based on various segments inputs to meet diverse set of applications.
• We support major Wi-Fi product launches collaborating closely with Product Marketing, Applications Engineering, Field engineering and others.

Responsibilities

As a Wi-Fi Software Product Manager, you will play an important role in shaping the evolution of the Low-Power Wi-Fi software stack and ensuring market competitiveness. Your responsibilities will include combination of hands-on and strategic activities, including:

• Wi-Fi Feature Roadmap: Create, scope & prioritize Wi-Fi Software roadmap tailored for IoT use-cases and manage trade-offs against engineering and schedule limitations. Identify emerging trends and customer needs to make roadmap decisions and drive product differentiation.
• Wi-Fi Value Add & differentiation: Create, scope & prioritize value-add and differentiated set of unique features requirements for future SoCs/radios leveraging low-power benefits of Silicon Labs IC roadmap.
• Influence Silicon roadmap: Provide strategic input and influence silicon roadmap requirements necessary for future Wi-Fi software features such as Wi-Fi Sensing, Locationing, Dynamic Multiprotocol, Wireless Coex, AI/ML, etc
• Review and analyze customer inputs, champion feasibility analysis with stakeholders and prioritize by revenue and strategic importance for various Wi-Fi requirements.
• Provide input and influence solution reference design for key specific market segments.
• Silicon Labs Differentiation: Work with SW/HW Architects and R&D, ideate ways to differentiate unique low-power and other features available on our SoCs
• Partner with Project Managements and key R&D stakeholders on deliverables required to meet roadmap.
• Collaborate with business units and applications engineering teams to support new feature deployments, field trials, and address customer requirements at large accounts.

Collaborate and work with external alliances such as Wi-Fi Alliance, Wireless Broadband Alliance, Connectivity standards alliance, to gather industry insights and synthesize input for future product roadmaps. Prioritize IoT use-case for wider industry benefit and silicon labs focus.

Skills You Will Need

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering discipline such as ECE, EE, CS, or related field. An MBA is a Plus. 
• Minimum 8-10 years industry experience in developing wireless connectivity products in IoT or related segments. Understanding of wireless Industry standards, regulations, market dynamics and competitive trends.
• Strong background in networking and Wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi (802.11 a/ac/ax/be), and exposure to other complementary connectivity technologies such as Zigbee/Zwave, BT, BLE, etc
• Experience using collaboration tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Advanced Roadmaps to facilitate communication, project management, and task prioritization. Ability to leverage these tools to align with business requirements and prioritize tasks based on customer impact.
• ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams located in different geographical locations.
• track record of interfacing with customers throughout the pre-sales process, conducting product feasibility assessments, gathering requirements, and addressing field escalations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

. 

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:

• Experience in IoT Cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS IoT Core, Microsoft Azure IOT, and other leading platforms is a huge plus.
• Experience in emerging areas of IoT & Wi-Fi including standards such as Matter/Thread, 802.11az (Wi-Fi Locationing), 802.11bf (Wi-Fi Sensing) or usage of ML algorithm in Wi-Fi highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of at least one of the IoT market segments such as: Wearables, Trackers, Appliances, Smart Energy/Metering, Lighting, Consumer electronics, etc
• Experience in different embedded compute SoC architectures and RTOS environment.
• Prior experience in software development or systems engineering on Wi-Fi Connectivity products is a big plus.
• Experience in enabling customers and users for a friction-free developer experience is valuable.
• experience in building relationships with third-party software and hardware external partners is beneficial to enable rich feature set and enable wider market adoption.
• Experience developing product and SW differentiation strategies.
