Justworks is looking for a strategic leader with a depth and breadth of experience in learning and development. As the Senior Manager, Leadership & People Development, you will play an integral role in continuing to build out our leadership and people development efforts across the organization. You will be responsible for thoroughly assessing and understanding organizational and departmental learning needs and partnering closely with our business units to discover and address areas where employees, managers, and the organization as a whole need support to reach their full potential. 

To support our goal of cultivating a high performance, growth-oriented culture, a primary focus area will be bolstering managerial and leadership skills across all management levels. Naturally, we also ensure our people have the training they need to be technically savvy, ethically compliant, have a commitment to a harassment-free workplace and ownership of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. The Senior Manager, Leadership & People Development will report directly to the Director, Learning and Organizational Development.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

  • Design and implement high-impact and sustainable learning and development programs that span across the employee lifecycle in support of our strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create the full suite of leadership development programs and experiences aligned to Justworks’ defined Leadership Expectations/Behaviors, starting with first-time people leaders and expanding to senior leadership and executive leadership.
  • Identify and manage the need for outside expertise and perspective to determine appropriate course content and course delivery methods (eLearning, instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, blended learning, etc.).
  • Translate instructional concepts into innovative, on-brand, creative, interactive, one-of-a-kind learning solutions (eLearning, podcast episodes, quick reference guides, user guides/manuals, course materials, etc., for various learning applications including technical system rollouts).
  • Own and evaluate the JustManage suite of onlines courses, BetterUp and LinkedIn Learning partnerships.
  • Lead the rollout of a new Learning Management System (LMS) in collaboration and close partnership with our Revenue Enablement and People teams. 
  • Develop a mentorship program that is centrally administered but functionally relevant across the business.
  • Identify and consistently monitor and measure the effectiveness of learning and development programs.
  • Manage a team of 1 to execute learning and development initiatives with the potential for the team to grow based on business needs.
  • Support additional talent development processes such as career pathing, succession planning and talent reviews.
  • Other duties as needed based on department and/or organizational needs, including maintaining content and training information and records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 9 years of learning and development experience with at least some experience in a high growth, technical or start-up environment.
  • Minimum of 7 years in developing curriculum and experiences to support all levels of leadership including first-time leaders, senior leaders and executives.
  • Experience creating and facilitating leadership development and people development programs.
  • Experience in designing and implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in developing programs for people managers and individual contributors.
  • Intellectual curiosity, a strong growth-mindset, and the desire to constantly improve.
  • Excellent facilitation and communications skills as well as exceptional collaboration and influence skills across all levels of an organization.
  • Commitment to driving diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives and a strong personal conviction toward combating racism.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing cross-functional relationships and priorities.
  • Proven strategic agility, ability to succeed in a fast-paced, continuously-evolving environment.
  • Prior experience as a change management champion and expert with experience and comfort in working in a fast-paced, fast paced, growth and matrix environment with the ability to bring your stakeholders with you through the change process.

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $155,500.00 to $178,825.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
