GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: 

The candidate will serve as a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) in the Mass General Early Brain Development Initiative (EBDI), and will report to Dr. Joshua Roffman, director of EBDI. The coordinator will play a critical role in the quality control and analysis of data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study, an NIH-funded effort to elucidate the influence of a variety of environmental and genetic factors on various psychopathologies from ADHD to SUD. The ABCD cohort is also one of the largest imaging cohorts and offers a unique opportunity to assess psychopathology and its risk and protective factors with data from many different levels. The coordinator will largely work with structural and functional MRI images via Freesurfer, focusing on improving the quality of images for analyses, which will target brain anatomical and functional correlates of psychopathology, environmental exposures, and genetics. Must be a diligent worker with a high attention to detail. There is also ample opportunity to design and explore research questions of your own using ABCD data and for crossover with other projects under the EBDI, such as the Brain health Begins Before Birth (B4) Study and the Prenatal Folic acid and Adolescent Brain development (PFAB) Study.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Contributing to imaging and related analyses and prepping data for manuscripts
• Assessing quality of T1- and T2-weighted structural as well as functional MRI scans
• Implementing consistent quality control across many individuals’ brain images
• Pre-processing images to prep for imaging analyses
• Managing the download, storage, and processing of imaging and clinical data from the ABCD study
• Contributing to IRB submissions, amendments and continuing reviews as needed

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., psychology, engineering, neuroscience) required

EXPERIENCE:

• Prior experience with and/or a strong interest in neuroimaging encouraged
• Experience with FreeSurfer, R, and/or SPSS software encouraged
• Prior experience designing, implementing, and analyzing structural and functional MRI studies a plus
