Job Description:

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is committed to working with clients and prospects around the world to develop broader and deeper relationships with Dimensional. Through partnering closely with the Global Client Group (GCG) and firm resources, FIG is responsible for creating, managing, and enhancing key initiatives to reflect the existing and prospective relationship that these organizations have with the firm. Specifically, the team focuses on strategic engagement, knowledge sharing, and commercial alignment on key growth priorities. FIG strives to be a proactive, flexible, and forward-looking commercial partner to the business and to our clients to ensure that we deliver on our value proposition of bringing “the whole firm” to bear on behalf of strategic relationships globally.

The FIG Regional Director (RD) will work closely senior FIG RDs, senior management, and other internal resources to support efforts with global strategic clients. In addition, this role will work closely with GCG channel leadership teams to strengthen and expand channel specific strategic client coordination and support.

To be successful, the Regional Director must have a solid foundational knowledge of investments, capital markets and asset allocation theory. The ability to discuss the sophisticated investment solutions that Dimensional provides is critical to working with and influencing major decision makers at the industry's largest platforms. Just as important, the Regional Director must have a global growth mindset, strong business development and client service orientation and understand the complex issues and challenges platforms face in building client-centric, product solutions.

While the FIG culture is very much team-centric, a large portion of the work is self-directed and requires an individual who can work independently under tight time constraints and evolving priorities. Professional and personal maturity is critical given the position will have frequent interaction with senior leadership (internally and externally).

Responsibilities:

  • Support global and regional priorities, including escalating time-sensitive matters and communicating strategic relationship initiatives globally
  • Maintain regular dialogue with GCG and other Dimensional functional areas across the firm’s global offices
  • Work with other relationship teams, legal, finance, product management, portfolio management, research and senior management to qualify and implement new business and/or lead client projects
  • Coordinate strategic client events and networking opportunities and support marketing efforts including managing the priority setting of internal and external materials
  • Sales leadership and management of executive level relationships
  • Develop strategies to expand and retain existing and build net new platform relationships; expand Dimensional's addressable market, increase revenues, AUM and clients within the firms through the profitable growth of the Dimensional product suite
  • Educate home office executives and research teams on capital market behavior and investment theory
  • Consult with platform and product managers on building an efficient intermediary platform while providing a successful investment experience to clients
  • Be a spokesperson for the Dimensional brand; present Dimensional Fund Advisors’ investment capabilities, investment theory and performance to Research due-diligence teams, platform teams at company conferences and industry functions
  • Formulate and execute tailored Dimensional initiatives and champion existing company initiatives

Qualifications:

  • A personal alignment, understanding and appreciation of Dimensional's investment process, philosophy and business strategy
  • Strong consultative sales abilities in building relationships and raising assets
  • Extensive knowledge and network of strategic platform firms and decision makers who will embrace Dimensional's investment philosophy and desire to utilize its product suite
  • Collaborative disposition with authentic willingness and desire to work cross-functionally across the Global Client Group and all other Dimensional divisions to maximize the firm's opportunity set
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with high energy and passion; a self-starter
  • Must have 10+ years of experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or CFA strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with regards to conveying technical investment approaches and key Dimensional selling points in a clear and compelling manner
  • Ability to present Dimensional’s products and philosophy to small and large groups
  • Competitive but highly collaborative with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • SIE (Securities Industry Essentials), Series 7, and Series 63/66 licenses required; SIE and Series 7 must be obtained within the first 12 weeks of hire as a condition of employment
