About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Training Advisor to join the newly formed Queensland Training team. Based at our Brisbane Office and working closely with group and site HSE and Training functions, the Training Advisor (ROC/NPI) is responsible for developing and maintaining training materials for our Remote Operations (Fixed Plant and Mine Control) and Non-Process Infrastructure teams. This role is based at the Whitehaven Brisbane Office, 12 Creek Street.

This role is based in our Brisbane office.

What You’ll Do

  • Utilise various learning delivery methods to build best practice materials – eLearning, Face-to-face and Blended.
  • Work closely with our ROC and NPI teams to design effective training programs for site requirements (E.g., authorisation and appointments, SOPs, SWIs) and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain new and existing training resources mapped to the endorsed components of the Resources and Infrastructure Industry (RII) training package.
  • Upgrade existing training resources related to resource processing to meet industry requirements

What You’ll Bring 

  • Detail-oriented, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in developing training materials to meet the endorsed components of the RII Training Package.
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs using various instructional techniques and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Mine Training Needs Analysis and competencies within open-cut coal mining environments.
  • Strong knowledge of how regulatory standards (E.g., Orders and Recognised Standards) apply to mining operations along with strong knowledge of the interrelated nature of training and Safety and Health Management Systems.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110, TAE40116, TAE40122) or Higher Qualification in Adult Education.
  • High Level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Articulate 360 Suite, Adobe Photoshop.
