Freddie Mac’s Investments & Capital Markets Division is currently seeking a junior Financial Engineer to participate in implementing all of the firm’s quantitative models and analytics.

Our Impact:

The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is responsible for management of the retained portfolio as well as debt funding, liquidity management and interest-rate hedging. The division is also responsible for I&CM securitization.

Your Impact:

The ideal candidate will have a creative but analytical attitude and be passionate about software engineering. The selected candidate will combine software development, quantitative analysis, and collaboration skills to help build high-performance, scalable and fault tolerant solutions.

Your Work Falls into Two Primary Categories:

Develop:

Design, develop and support fixed income computation libraries written in C++ and Java. Follow software engineering standard methodologies to build modular and sustainable models:

  • Implement statistical and machine learning financial models
  • Conduct model tie-out, regression, integration testing to deliver quality software.
  • Write automated python script testing to ensure standard technology development practices are met.
  • Support application teams with library integration.

Teamwork:

Align with the business needs for the libraries. Work closely with modelers and analysts under supervision to compose and refine business requirements

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent working experience
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Programming experience of developing and testing
  • Proficient with Object Oriented programming Languages such as Java. C++ is preferred language
  • Strong fundamentals of data structure and algorithms
  • Interest in learning financial knowledge
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills (statistics, econometrics, algebra)

Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $103,000 - $155,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
