Position Overview

The Sourcing Specialist should engage in sample development process from getting design handoff to before order confirmation. S/he is also responsible for production of all adopted products through delivery. All in all, the Sourcing Specialist should be able to manage final cost, placement, communication of product changes, on-time delivery, and claim resolution & others as required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Product Development

  • Gather all design concept and Tech Pack from RL Asia Sourcing team; communicate design concept to production team, factories and suppliers.
  • Responsible for sample development, garment testing coordination and work closely with identified vendors.
  • Keep track of development workflow and to ensure product quality and execution meet our standards.
  • Support product technique development and work out alternatives with factories for cost effective solutions.
  • Conduct costing analysis per fabrication, styling, garment construction. Negotiate with vendors for best competitive quotations and quality.

Production

  • Host pre-production meeting with QA team and factories to align the expectation based on approved Tech Pack and standard.
  • Monitor WIP order tracking activities to ensure on-time deliveries with correct quality and quantity.
  • Manage and communicate the style changes that impact on cost, delivery and product integrity to all relevant parties.
  • Oversee the production elements to meet the standard and approval.
  • Troubleshoot production problems, prevent /resolve issues that will impact on product quality, cost and delivery.
  • Collaborate with QA team with PO & delivery details and monitor production and inspection process.

Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with factories to identify possible solutions relating to sample and stock liability.

Risk Assessment

  • Conduct risk assessment and provide suggestions for Management’s review and discussion.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • At least 4-6 years merchandising/ Sourcing experience (Category: Woven/Knit/Sweater) preferred with US buying office or large trading business.
  • Should have one the job working experience in PLM.
  • Profound product knowledge in high end brands products with good fashion sense.
  • High adaptability and flexibility to changing business environments, able to work independently.
  • Detailed-oriented and able to handle very structured process.
  • Technologically sound; especially in Excel, should be familiar with multiple systems, charts and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.
