At a Glance:

We are looking for a Security Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our IT security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex security infrastructure environments, experience working with managed service providers, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.

What you will do:

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the organization's security infrastructure. This includes network security, identity and access management, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of security systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a long-term cybersecurity risk reduction strategy and associated roadmaps.
  • Develop and monitor business metrics to measure the effectiveness of the Security Operations program and increase the maturity of the program over time.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of external vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor and assess vendor performance to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supervise and lead a team of security operations professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Oversee the activities of a managed service provider (MSP) performing both routine and project based cyber security activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement professional development plans.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to safeguard the organization's data and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
  • Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with human resources and legal as appropriate.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber / Information Security / Assurance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in managing IT security operations.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) of IT security experience.
  • Experience working with managed service providers and overseeing vendor relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In depth knowledge of concepts and technology within the areas of network security (networking, firewalls, vpn, etc.), identity and access management (SSO and active directory), and cybersecurity tools (end point agents, SIEM, and email protection)
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC) are a plus.
