Associate Scientist/Scientist DMPK

Terremoto Biosciences is looking for a talented Associate Scientist/Scientist, Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK). This individual will be responsible for planning, designing, conducting, and analyzing in vitro experiments to elucidate the ADME properties of molecules and support the progression of multiple programs. The position would be a key member of the DMPK team and report to the VP of Pharmacology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform non-routine ADME/DMPK assays such as reaction phenotyping, metabolite identification, etc. across drug discovery and development programs.
  • Scientific and technical knowledge around pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and drug transporters, including enzymology and enzyme kinetics.
  • Ability to generate and analyze Pharmacokinetic data.
  • Develop and utilize qualitative and quantitative methods on SCIEX LC-MS/MS, Thermo QE plus HRMS, and other analytical platforms.
  • Analyze in vitro and in vivo samples for drugs and metabolites for applications in pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetic, biomarker, etc. studies.
  • Prepare and present weekly DMPK updates and provide written procedures and reports.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Pharmacology, Synthetic Chemistry, CMC, Clinical Pharmacology, and other relevant divisions within the company.
  • Oversee and manage outsourced DMPK studies.
  • Participate in CRO qualification and selection.
  • Oversee and manage service contracts for DMPK equipment.
  • Prepare high quality reports and regulatory documents including IND and assist in the preparation of DMPK components of nonclinical and clinical study protocol design, nonclinical and clinical study reports.
  • Serve as DMPK rep to discovery project teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a scientific discipline
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience in DMPK
  • Experience with managing studies conducted at CROs.
  • Computer experience including LC-MS software, Excel, Prism, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Phoenix WinNonLin, with a willingness to expand computer knowledge.
  • Organized, adaptive, and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Work well in a team setting and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in South San Francisco, CA is $135,000 to $150,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Terremoto Biosciences, is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
