About the Position

Foursquare is looking for a Director, Business Development to join our team located in or near one of our office hubs - New York City, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco. You’ll be a part of the Global Business Development and Partnerships Team at Foursquare. This team is responsible for expanding the surface area that Foursquare operates across for all of our products and services. In addition, the team ensures that we have commercial relationships with our key partners and channels that enable both us and our partners to grow effectively.

The Director, Business Development will lead a team of business development professionals to identify and onboard new partnerships and channels, optimize and negotiate existing relationships and work cross functionally with other GTM and product teams to help Foursquare’s revenue scale.

In this role, you’ll 

  • Accelerate the adoption and consumption of Foursquare’s Adtech, Martech, and Insights products within Programmatic, Digital Media, Advanced TV, Digital Out of Home, and Data Marketplace partners.
  • Drive direct and indirect revenue growth by implementing strategic initiatives, negotiating terms, and collaborating closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams
  • Engage with key stakeholders (internally and externally) across multiple functions at varying seniority levels to set a new standard of excellence for data partnerships
  • Work with Product & GTM leaders to ensure proper positioning of Foursquare products to achieve quarterly and yearly pipeline and revenue goals
  • Identify, develop, and lead partnerships to drive revenue from the partner’s customer base
  • Work with marketing to create GTM activities or collateral that evangelize the customer benefits of partnerships

What you’ll need 

  • 10+ years of proven experience in sales, partner sales, channel and/or alliance development, ideally in the software/technology industry.
  • A proven track record leading and developing a team of sales and/or business development staff.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and an ability to interact with and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in the programmatic ad technology space and experience working with agencies, DSPs, DMPs, and publishers
  • Experience with advertising pricing and commercial models and successful track record leading complex negotiations.
  • Experience collaborating with legal stakeholders to review, negotiate, and sign partner contracts
  • Ability to operate autonomously and navigate ambiguity
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus

At Foursquare, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry and market standards. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and specific office location.

The annual total cash compensation range is $208,000 - $325,000, however actual salaries can vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies, as well as location. 

Salary is just one component of Foursquare’s total compensation package, which includes restricted stock units, multiple health insurance options, and a wide range of benefits!
