Description
Install and repair fences to specification including welding, gate construction, concrete work, setting posts and installing hardware.
Fabricate and repair various types of window guards and handrails.
Estimate materials and procure the proper materials and supplies for completion of the work order.
Accountability in maintaining accurate records for labor, materials, work order completion and other Maintenance records.
Identify and resolve various maintenance repair problems related to the fence craft.
Operate hand/power tools and equipment required in the craft, using good safety practices.
Maintain tools, equipment and supplies assigned.
Demonstrate initiative in relation to the position, including job planning through job completion.
Provide effective communication with Principals, Department Heads and others in scheduling various maintenance repairs.
Report maintenance problems that are observed which may or may not be covered by the craft.
Operate all equipment required to Powder Coat various items.
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or GED.
Required Valid Texas Driver’s License and a record that meets the Districts standard.
Required 3-5 direct years of experience in related craft.
Demonstrated ability to set string line, mix and pour concrete, set comer posts, lace and stretch fence wire to various types of fences.
Demonstrated technical knowledge, skills and ability to weld and build gates, install brace, tension bars, security fences and install fencing hardware.
Demonstrated technical knowledge to read blueprints.
Extensive knowledge of form setting, pouring, and finishing concrete.
Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
Ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
Must pass Dallas ISD random drug test.
