Under the direction of the General Foreman or other appropriate administrative staff, the Electrical foreman is responsible for, supervise and coordinate a team of electricians and ensure the successful completion of electrical projects. This position requires a commitment to safety, and the ability to lead and motivate a team to complete projects on time and within budget at the Plaster City plant.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for safety, supervision, training, and development of maintenance electricians providing for an efficient operation consistent with overall company safety objectives.
  • Responsible for consulting with department managers, RPM group and maintenance supervision to identify, investigate, and improve chronic equipment issues throughout the plant with the goal of minimizing maintenance downtime while upholding the USG Reliability Performance Model (RPM).
  • Responsible for leading the electrical team and identify areas of opportunity with recommended corrective actions in accordance with the Reliability Performance Model.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of precision maintenance practices throughout the facility including selection of precision maintenance tooling, craftsperson training, and program development.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of all plant major maintenance and capital improvement plans as well as implementation and maintenance of assigned safety model programs.
  • Must have a basic understanding of electrical concepts such as, 3-phase motors, 480 volt and 4160 voltages.
  • Must understand NFPA 70E code.
  • Must have PLC and VFD drive knowledge.
  • Must understand motor starters - size & change overloads & heaters.
  • Must understand three phase motor wiring termination.
  • Must have a knowledge of advanced control system troubleshooting including PLC control using wiring schematics.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of burner controls: perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting & repairing.
  • Keep active communication other department maintenance foreman and supervisors to execute efficiently the daily basis work orders.
  • Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with implementation of predictive maintenance programs including vibration analysis, infrared testing, ultrasonic and motor circuit analysis, etc.
  • Must participate in Lean six sigma events, Kaizen, A3, CI cards.
  • Must participate in POKA Checklist forms, 5S Projects, Recognition.
  • Submit work orders request using EAM System.

INTERNAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision making and employee relations skills within a diverse workforce environment.
  • Motivator with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks within planned budget and manage costs within established goals.
  • Knowledgeable with safety and regulatory compliance programs with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and housekeeping. Basic knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies that can be utilized to monitor the condition of equipment. Basic understanding of Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to evaluate equipment failures and optimize preventative maintenance practices.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
