This position is responsible for the close accounting process making sure it is done on a timely basis and free of material misstatements in compliance with GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire close process in compliance with corporate policies and deadlines. 
• Ensure the financial statements are submitted on a timely basis and free of any material misstatements. 
• Lead a team of accountants making sure every individual is provided with opportunities to develop and grow. 
• Work closely with internal and external auditors making sure a SOX control environment is properly maintained. 
• Assistance with SEC reporting schedules and supporting Corporate in preparation of accounting policies. 
• Actively supporting any new system implementation projects (i.e., ERP) 
• Research of technical accounting issues 
• Making sure in providing high quality customer services to any other departments within the organization.
• The time spent on each responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change dependent on business needs.

Qualifications Expected for Position

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. 
• CPA or equivalent required. 
• Ten + years accounting experience in general ledger and financial statement preparation. 
• Experience in leading people is preferred. 
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills are a must. (Vlookups, pivot table, data merging). 
• Ability to communicate analytically with all levels of personal and management. 
• Experience with large financial systems preferred. 
• Excellent leadership and communication skills. 
• Deep understanding of the interrelations between People, Processes, Technology. 
• Advanced analytical problem solving. 
• Strong understanding of accounting principles. 
• Able to manage complex tasks and work under tight deadlines. 
• Proficient with Microsoft suite.
