The Safety Internship provides a tremendous opportunity for a degree seeking individual to put their classroom learning into practice within the Materials and Construction Industries. Interns will gain experience in many different aspects of New Enterprise’s Safety operations. Depending on length of internship, interns will be exposed to various aspects of safety processes applied within the Materials and Construction industries. Ideally, this program will help strengthen interns within their career path and facilitate alignment with their interests and abilities.
Internship Structure
A Safety Professional will be assigned to each intern, as a mentor, and will remain with the intern for the duration of the internship. In addition, interns will interact with key positions across the organization including Area Managers, Plant Superintendents, Regional Managers, Project Managers, Departmental Managers, and vendors. These interactions and relationships are intentionally designed to help the intern develop their skillset and grow professionally.
Rotational Assignment Overview
Rotations will vary from field and operational safety assignments to office work. The primary function in each assignment will be to support and enhance our operational safety processes and create a work product through proper documentation. In addition, all interns will be responsible for learning and adhering to required safety protocols within each assignment.
Travel to and from assignments and jobsites will be required. Travel expenses are reimbursable according to NESL Policy.
