Job Description

Overview:

Our Farming internship offers a substantive, hands-on experience for students to be able to contribute to Wonderful Citrus' farming division. Our intern will be trained and directly mentored by a skilled team with years of experience and knowledge to share. Our intern will also have the opportunity to visit, learn, and become involved in several of our Farming departments, including Farm Management, Research and Development, Nursery operations, and Pest Control Application operations.

Here's what you'll do:

• Assisting shop supervisor with daily tasks and projects
• Aid technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles, tractors, and pumps, including but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks
• Learn and follow standard operating procedures for various repair and maintenance tasks under the supervision of experienced technicians
• Help maintain tools and equipment by cleaning, organizing, and returning them to their proper storage locations after use
• Work collaboratively with other interns, technicians, and shop staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others

Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

• Must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Science or related studies required
• Must be at least in his or her Junior year/Junior academic standing
• Computer proficient in Excel, Access, Word, etc.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are a must
• Demonstrate interest in Farming/Pest Control Operations
• High attention to detail
