About the role:

The Carrier is looking for a high-potential candidate to join our SAP technical team. This position is part of a development and support team responsible for SAP ABAP, PO, CPI and S4 HANA development. The SAP Development Manager has the overall responsibility of leading the development team and programming activities in a new SAP ECC, BW, CRM, SCM, PO, CPI and S4 HANA environment. The resource is also expected to be hands-on.

This position offers a great opportunity to grow one’s leadership skills. Key responsibilities include the visualization, planning, testing, and delivery of systems projects applying broad background knowledge of business operations and systems technology / solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery and/or development of systems projects applying a broad background and knowledge of business operations and systems technology and solutions
  • Projects will typically require the planning and coordination of the development teams including hourly employees, cross business unit, and/or external resources
  • Lead the team responsible for designing, developing and supporting the SAP RICEFW (Reports/Interfaces/Conversions/Enhancements/Forms/Workflow) objects
  • Develop/Code programs, unit and quality testing
  • Provide quality assurance, operational support of current applications, assisting IT leadership in the management of the development lifecycle, and assessment and delivery of code solutions
  • Oversees efforts of a development team and acts as the supervisor of this group; provides leadership, guidance, and direction
  • Advocate and enforce applicable standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in the implementation and/or maintenance of application or application modules
  • Coach and mentor team members with regards to current performance and future development; stretch individual team members to achieve outside their comfort zone; motivate team to achieve challenging objectives while fostering a high degree of team satisfaction.
  • Responsible for development objects across several projects, support or complex enhancements.
  • Management activities include establishing project objectives and scope, monitoring and tracking progress to plan, and managing resources/assignment.
  • Contributes to the team or department by applying their knowledge of development and quality review cycles.
  • Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others

Qualifications:

  • Possess a strong understanding and experience in ABAP, CDS Views, Custom OData Services, Gateway Client, Postman client, HANA AMDP Procedures, PO and CPI development, in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with a SAP S4 HANA cloud multi-tenant environment preferred but not a requirement
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to effectively lead efforts including delivery of larger complex projects
  • SAP Migration/Upgrade experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in areas of business continuity, security and data privacy; ensures systems are designed and built with appropriate levels of protection
  • 8-10 years IT experience with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills, including strong and efficient multi-tasking capability
  • Minimum 8 years SAP ABAP and integration development
  • Minimum 3 years SAP S4 HANA and cloud integration development
  • Excellent written and oral communications are essential
  • Experience with ABAP, Microsoft SharePoint, HP Quality Assurance Tools (QTP/QC), and core SAP transactions would be desirable
  • Knowledge of ABAP, XML, HTML, .net, java and JavaScript is desirable as well as knowledge of Oracle and/or MS SQL Server
  • Eagerness to keep current with emerging technologies and promote their use
  • Understanding of SOX controls and compliance within an IT department

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
