Job Summary

Body Shop Lead will ensure the productivity, safety, and good housekeeping of the Vehicle Maintenance body shop. Will conduct inspection and enforce the standards of workmanship by providing task oversight. Able to perform Upholstery duties to the fullest, such as repairing seats, replacing carpets, replacing all upholstery in all types of vehicles are Equipment as required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation tasks such as filing, grinding, sanding, and smoothing filled or repaired surfaces using both power tools and hand tools. Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure proper functioning, dimensional accuracy, and overall appearance of the paint job. Conduct test-drives to verify proper alignment and handling.
• Ensure compliance with relevant government regulations.
• Implement training requirements and monitor employee performance.
• Ensure adherence to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies by employees.
• Lead and manage the administration of workspace for vehicles and equipment.
• Fit and weld replacement parts into place using wrenches and welding equipment.
• Grind down welds to smooth them using power grinders and other tools.
• Prime and paint repair surfaces using paint and spray guns, as well as motorized sanders.
• Perform upholstery duties including repairing seats, replacing carpets, and replacing upholstery in various types of vehicles and equipment as required.
• Implement training requirements and monitor employee performance.
• Ensure adherence to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies by employees.

Basic Qualifications

• Turkish Citizenship.
• High School graduate (must possess diploma).
• Valid Turkish professional driver’s license and skill to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
• 5 years of Supervisory experience with body shop employees.
• Upholstery experience.
• Proficiency in adhering to OSHA, EPA, Fire and Safety Regulations.
• Able to communicate orally, comprehend and read English at a basic level 1.
• Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8 years of body and repair experience.
• 5 years upholstery experience.

Physical Activities

Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to Eye, head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, gloves and hearing protective devices.
