Neapco is currently seeking to fill the position of full-time Superintendent, Distribution and Purchasing. This position is based out of our Belleville Drivelines Manufacturing location. Compensation dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description: Superintendent, Distribution and Purchasing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for compliance to Warehouse and MP&L operations and procedures
  • Responsible for Inventory Accuracy and backflush issues from material movement and tagging
  • Responsible for supplier delivery performance tracking and Dock Audits along with NCR’s
  • Responsible for Line Side, Tugger, and Market delivery utilizing FIFO methods,
  • Responsible for tracking production critical supplier shipments together with the planning team to 

ensure timely delivery to production lines

  • Responsible for tracking customer critical shipments together with the customer service team to 

ensure timely delivery to customers

  • Staff training and management, reasonably job assignment, including receiving, line feeding and 

delivery, to ensure production and delivery to customer on time.

  • Warehouse and PLEX (ERP) system management ensure system records match with the real objects.
  • Keep in with nominated qualified environmental company, regularly deal with the dangerous waste.
  • Arrange monthly physical counting, analysis discrepancy reason, and take action plan.
  • Responsible for Rack, Container and Fork Truck Training and Management
  • Responsible for Plant Layout and 5s updates to include Fork Truck Parking 
  • 3rd Party Logistics Management for Customer Finished Goods delivery.
  • Co-operation with related department to provide the corresponding support
  • Responsible for training and job rotation of fork truck drivers (Creating a flexible work force)
  • Responsible to monitor Customer Portals and train Supervisors to answer MP&L related tickets
  • Responsible for supporting shipping/Distribution Analyst with driver and Logistics
  • Responsible for vacation coverage of Material Supervisors to include weekends and off shifts
  • Responsible for creating and following MP&L Metrics/KPIs
  • Responsible for Lean Manufacturing Principles and Continuous improvement
  • Responsible for developing reports as required by MP&L Manager
  • Responsible for maintaining a upstanding working relationship with the UAW
  • Responsible for setting up outbound shipments for maintenance and engineering as required 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated leader ship with the ability to Coach and Develop a cohesive team
  • Team player with good communication skills, both Verbal and Written 
  • Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and foster a friendly work environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task 
  • Familiar with IATF 16949 and ISO14001.
  • Good PC skill, be familiar with ERP system

EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree with an emphasis in Materials is preferred or related field
  • The position requires no less than 5 years warehouse and logistics management experience working directly in an automotive environment. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required along with strong active listening skills. The position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical reports, financial reports, and legal documents. The ability to effectively respond to inquiries and complaints from customers, employees, regulatory agencies, executives, or members of the business community. Must have the ability to write presentations, internal communications and process manuals and instructions that conform to prescribed style and format. Have the ability to effectively present information to all levels of the business & external audiences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to prepare budgets using Excel applications. Must be able to cost our labor expenses.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of information and work and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

The environment is an industrial assembly facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and around chemical compounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
