Neapco is currently seeking to fill the position of full-time Lead MPL Supervisor. This position is based out of our Belleville Drivelines Manufacturing location. Compensation dependent upon qualifications.

Job Description: Lead Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lead Material Planning & Logistics Supervisor oversees and ensures the timely Logistics of material to the customer base. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Promote, manage and drive “safe work environment.”
  • Ensure the efficient flow of material in support of established production schedules
  • Oversee the scheduling of 51 UAW represented material handlers across 3 shift’s
  • Lead/Track cross-shift department meetings and stand-downs
  • Oversee employee time and attendance records in Plex ERP system to ensure accurate payroll processing and attendance tracking
  • Provide formal forklift instruction and practical training, as well as evaluate employee performance to issue material handling equipment certification
  • Oversee shipping and receiving activities & functions
  • Oversee & Review shipping, receiving, and inventory records in ERP system (Plex)
  • Participate in cycle counts and help maintain accuracy of inventory
  • Support/cascade and follow production job schedules
  • Eliminate waste through safety, quality, and MP&L process improvement initiatives
  • Daily responsibility of Plant floor activities I.E general production, service builds, stage requests, plant tour preparations.
  • Over see warehouse & pick list activities
  • Review weekly KPI’s and create improvement plans

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent judgement and decision-making ability
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritizing multiple projects and tasks
  • Sound understanding of MRP functional flows and requirement generation
  • Experience supervising salary & unionized work force in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) experience and proficiency required
  • Preferred Experience with Plex ERP system and customer portals (covisint and eSupplierConnect/clips) 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Supply Chain Management preferred; consideration may be given to candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years’ Logistics experience is preferred. 
  • At least 5 years’ Warehouse experience is preferred.
  • APICS certification and Master Scheduling and LEAN Manufacturing experience preferred. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will have 5-6 direct reports.

IATF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The IATF responsibilities listed below are required for this position. Other responsibilities may be added with or without notice in writing, at any time.

  • Maintenance of the job descriptions for the salary team members. 
  • Coordination of training for salary team members. Assist in supporting training for Hourly team members.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required, along with strong active listening skills. The position requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical reports, financial reports, and legal documents. The ability to effectively respond to inquiries and complaints from customers, team members, regulatory agencies, executives, or members of the business community. Must have the ability to write presentations, internal communications, and process manuals and instructions that conform to prescribed styles and formats. Have the ability to effectively present information to all levels of business and external audiences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to prepare budgets using Excel applications. Must be able to cost labor expenses.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of information and work and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
